Internal Affairs (IA) is responsible for investigating allegations of misconduct, corruption, excessive force, and other violations of policy by employees. Our goal is to maintain integrity, accountability, and public trust by ensuring officers adhere to ethical and legal standards.

We respond to complaints from civilians, all ADCRR staff, and external agencies. Our investigations can result in disciplinary actions, policy changes, or in severe cases, termination.

Employee Relations

Employee Relations Manager

Employee Relations (ER) is responsible for overseeing and providing guidance on matters involving allegations of misconduct, formal discipline, professionalism, and performance issues. Our goal is to assist in maintaining consistency in the application of formal discipline and informal redirection of all ADCRR employees. We encourage administrators to focus on whether an employee's actions are a mistake or misconduct.

Employee Relations processes formal disciplinary actions from 80-hour suspensions up through dismissal. This office also reviews and provides feedback on lower forms of discipline, such as the 40-hour suspensions and formal Letters of Reprimand. Some other areas of responsibility include staff grievances and working with the Attorney General's Office on State Personnel Board (SPB) cases. This often involves gathering evidence and testifying at SPB hearings. Employee Relations work closely with Internal Affairs to obtain further information when needed.
